Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Position Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Weekend Shifts Available
Salary Range: $18.50–$19/hr (plus applicable stipends and shift differentials)

Mental Health Technicians provide individual and group guidance services to students and clients in school-based, residential, and therapeutic settings, helping them develop social skills, anger management, coping strategies, and life skills.

  • Base pay: $18.50–$19/hr

  • Additional $3/hr stipend when working in residential settings (through approved grant period)

  • $2/hr shift differential for weekend shifts

  • Bonuses: $100 after 30 days, $150 after 6 months, $200 after 1 year of employment

Your Role & Responsibilities

Mental Health Technicians will:

  • Maintain consistent, full-time supervision of clients during educational, leisure, and daily activities to ensure safety and accountability

  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to implement treatment goals and client care plans

  • Provide social and emotional support, helping clients develop life skills, coping strategies, anger management, and social skills

  • Participate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) protocols, including physical restraint when necessary

  • Assist in transportation of clients as requested

  • Serve as a mandatory reporter of abuse, reporting concerns related to client safety, care, or protection

  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate social behavior and conflict resolution skills

  • Follow all agency and program-specific treatment and intervention protocols

Work Schedule Options:

  • Day School-Based Position: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Evening Residential Position: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Weekend Residential Shifts: Saturday and Sunday

    • 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

    • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    • 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • On-Call / Part-Time: Pick up 2 or more shifts per month

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred

  • Relevant experience in human services:

    • High school diploma + 2 years experience in human services, or

    • High school diploma + 30 semester hours college credit + 1 year experience

  • Colorado substitute teacher license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) preferred for school-based positions

  • Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days

  • CPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days

  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities

  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust

  • Must pass background check, drug screening, and physical exam

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
